Plain answers

Robertson County insurance questions

Can you compare insurance companies in Hearne or Franklin, TX?

Yes. As an independent agency, we compare options from more than one insurance company for farm and ranch, home, auto and business coverage. TDI’s home insurance guide notes that each company has its own underwriting rules and rates, so one may offer a policy when another won’t. You can work with us by phone or online from Hearne, Franklin, Calvert or anywhere in Robertson County, TX.

The Texas Department of Insurance counts 78 companies collecting homeowners premium in Robertson County in 2025, which is why a comparison across several of them matters.

Does homeowners insurance cover hail damage to a roof in Robertson County?

Usually, yes. Wind and hail caused 81 percent of the homeowners losses insurers paid in Robertson County in 2025, according to TDI. What you collect depends on your deductible, which can be different for wind and hail, and on whether your policy pays replacement cost or actual cash value for the roof. Tell us your roof’s age and material, and we can compare home insurance options with the roof coverage you want.

What affects home insurance rates in Hearne, TX?

TDI’s home insurance guide says most companies look at the home’s age and condition, its replacement cost, construction materials, where it sits, how close it is to a fire station and your claims history. Tell us about updates to the roof, wiring, plumbing or heating, and we can compare home insurance options and explain the limits and deductibles before you choose.

Do I need farm insurance for my land in Robertson County?

It depends on how you use the land, not the number of acres. Robertson County farms worked about 122,000 acres of cropland alongside pasture in the 2022 Census of Agriculture, and crops, cattle and stored hay each raise their own coverage questions. Tell us about the home, animals, equipment, crops, hay, leases and visitors, and we can compare farm and ranch insurance options, including farm liability.

37 percent of Robertson County's 1,351 farms are under 50 acres (2022 Census of Agriculture), the size range where a hobby farm policy often fits better than a standard homeowners form.

Can you insure horses and cattle in Robertson County?

Yes. How depends on what the animals do. Livestock and the liability that comes with them can be part of farm and ranch insurance, while horses used for boarding, training or lessons often need equine insurance. Robertson County counted 1,004 horses and ponies in the 2022 Census of Agriculture. Tell us how many animals you keep, where, and whether anyone pays you for their care.

Can my house, workshop and business activity be reviewed together?

Yes. Describe each building and what happens there. A workshop used for a hobby and one used for paid work raise different questions; the review may involve personal and business insurance.

Do I need renters insurance in Robertson County?

Texas law doesn’t require it, but your landlord might, and the landlord’s policy covers the building, not your belongings or your liability. About one in four Robertson County households rents (ACS 2020 to 2024). Renters insurance can pay for your belongings, your liability and extra living costs after a covered loss. Tell us where you rent and what you own, and we can compare renters insurance options.

Does starting a quote change my current coverage?

No. A quote request does not bind, change or cancel coverage. Coverage changes require written confirmation from the agency or carrier. For an existing policy, use our existing-client support page.
